Junoir Blaber is from Ghana but was transplanted to the Bronx as a young lion chaser. Blaber is the Rain Man of Meet The Matts and is a featured contributor on MTM global partner, Rugby Wrap Up. The name "Junoir" is not a cool African name. Instead, Blaber mis-typed "Junoir" on his Facebook page. But proving that two wrongs indeed do make a right, he embraced his new persona - [June-noire]... Manute Bol is his uncle and his teams are the Mets, Jets, Knicks & NY Rangers... And Manchester United. He knows soccer. [Vomit]. P.s... He has webbed toes and came be followed on Twitter here: @JunoirBlaber

EL BRONX, EL BARRIO – I got a text last night that said “People are saying that Junior is pinch hitting tomorrow.” For once these alleged people are correct. That’s right, here I am and I am taking this piece into the Land of Politics and I don’t care about the repercussions. With that, my […]

EL BRONX, EL BARRIO – Getting the call to pitch hit this week was no surprise and I was excited to do it.  Theere were a few ideas bouncing around in my head, so the sports part came easy. But I had to search around for my Song of the Week. After some soul-searching, the […]

EL BRONX, EL BARRIO – Been busy with life but when I was asked to pinch-hit, I said sure. Considering the high-stress week of work, why not relax and spend some time writing about sports. There is a lot to talk about but I will do it without bogging you, “the people,” down. For added […]

EL BRONX, EL BARRIO – I had tapped out of writing for MTM. Life had gotten in the way of things. Then I realized how lucky I was to have busy life. I felt I had to comeback and write one more time as tribute to FSA (Big Al Sternberg) because he wouldn’t be able […]

EL BRONX, EL BARRIO – I was actually on my way back to the Bronx as I typed this. Had a baby shower in Buffalo to attend – our own – and start a new job on Tuesday. Apparently waiting for MTM to be my full-time job will be yet another dream deferred. Anyway, today […]

EL BRONX, EL BARRIO – Well, we had yet another week of chaos in the world dominating current events. But while the Earth spins on its axis of madness, we’ll try to keep things somewhat normal – there’s irony – and try to focus on sports. Like last week, I will use music to briefly […]

EL BRONX, EL BARRIO – We do sports here at MTM. However, you would be crazy to think we are immune to what is going on around the country right now. So, I will talk a little about it… but we will definitely also focus on talking sports. Today’s topics are: Buffalo Springfield, Tim Duncan, The ESPY’S […]
