LeBron James to the Knicks?! More Mike Brown Magic?!

SPANISH HARLEM – Hello… Today’s topics for discussion are hoops related and include the biggest NBA markets – with a hint of drama. Without further speculation, here’s what’s on the docket: Knicks Introduce Mike Brown, and Lakers Have a LeBron James Situation.

Knicks Introduce Mike Brown

New York finally got its first look at Mike Brown and what made him the right choice for the Knicks. We all know he wasn’t their initial choice, but he was seen as the best available choice. There was the part about being happy to be in New York but that wasn’t the hard to sell for fans and media, but what did matter was made clearly in his introduction speech. He is focused on collaborating with the front office, which we now know is one of the reason Tom Thibodeau was fired.

He leaned on his experience in the league, which is quite extensive and the winning culture he was around with teams like San Antonio and Golden State. The winning culture that he hopes to establish with the Knicks and what was that other thing again?… winning championships. We know that is the main thing after getting so close to an NBA Finals last season. If he can get their offense in sync and establish a rotation that can benefit everyone in the long run, this could be a special season for Brown and the Knicks.

Lakers Have a LeBron James Situation

In my opinion, LeBron James has challenged his team’s organization every season to provide him the best roster possible. He wants championships and always will but he is in a weird situation now, not being the best player on their roster. With the NBA Salary Cap now limiting spending more than ever, it’s getting difficult to build a championship caliber roster on the fly. The Lakers will be hard-pressed to deliver for James, while looking to a future that will benefit Luka Doncic. James can make all the noise he wants but it won’t change what the Lakers will do this season.

That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for more great content from Jackson Sternberg.
