NEW YORK, NY – It’s cold here in NYC. We’ve had a snow storm and then a dusting and while the streets are clear, the blacktop is salt-stained almost white and black ice patches are hidden like landmines. And it looks like the respective luxury cruisers for the NY Knicks and their Madison Square Garden roomies, the NY Rangers, hit that black ice, with different outcomes.
NY RANGERS: The Blueshirts are sputtering along; 3-3 in their last six games with two ugly losses in a row. They were lucky to get a point Monday night against Angry Ward’s Dallas Stars after being outplayed for all of regulation.
On Wednesday night they lost to a Ottawa Senators side who have been one of the worst teams in the league this season.
Things have gotten so bad with Sens’ Nation that the brass has asked all of their top talent, including star defenseman Erik Karlsson, to list the teams they would waive no-trade clauses to join. It’s got some in Rangers Nation thinking of what the Blueshirts would have to give up to land the defensive powerhouse. It will be interesting to see how the negotiations between Nations goes.
Oh… The drama in Ottawa didn’t keep the Senators from beating the Broadway Blues, though. as the NY outfit still can’t seem to put a complete performance together.
NY KNICKS: Despite besting the cross-borough Nets last night, the ‘Bockers Bus is careening toward Lennox Hill Hospital this morning. Why? Because their lanky Latvian and budding franchise star and Instagram-hottie-du jour-bangin-playboy, Kristaps Porzingis, went out with a knee injury in the 3rd quarter. Buddy Diaz subsequently out of his inflatable Knicks Unicorn chair, clutching his chest with worry.
Come back tomorrow for a man whose heart was broken long ago by Chad Pennington, J-E-T-S fan, Junoir Blaber.
