MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ – Now that Yankee fans have plenty of time on their hands, they too have time for my Week 5 Free NFL Picks… Key Games of the Week:
New York Jets vs Atlanta Falcons
Gang Green travel “across the pond” to the land that Braveheart wanted to conquer before he was executed. Yes, we all know that the monarchy in Great Britain is about as useful as Big Apple Mayor Bill de Blasio. However, the NFL smells money in the UK, so Gang Green faces off at 9:30 am Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. This “epic” battle between the overrated, choke prone Matt Ryan and green Zach Wilson is sure to make any Saturday Night Hangover worse. That said, Wilson looked good in his first NFL win. With Jamison Crowder back in the lineup along with Corey Davis, Elijah Moore and Keelan Cole, Wilson will continue the nurturing process lighting up Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against a Falcon defense allowing 383 yards per game. Atlanta will be without Calvin Ridley so they will rely heavily on the reborn Cordarrelle Patterson as a runner and receiver. Ryan will choke once again. Jets 24 Falcons 20
San Diego LA Chargers vs Cleveland Browns
There is a whole lot of interest in this next contest. Baker Mayfield, Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns travel to SoFi Stadium with the intention of sacking Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, Joey Bosa and their Los Angeles Chargers. The Brownies must establish and maintain the run game to keep Herbert off the field. Two of the best defenses in the league will challenge solid offenses right up to the end. I’m liking the Chargers to continue their march towards a playoff run. Chargers 28- Browns 27
KC Chefs Chiefs vs Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen just may be filling those large shoes left empty for decades by Jim Kelly. He is totally legit, with a cannon arm and the balls to run you over. His Buffalo Bills travel to the unfriendly confines of Arrowhead Stadium to seek revenge against a wounded and exposed Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes to Tyreek Hill is still the best show in town and will continue to beat opposing defensive schemes, regardless of any double teams. Travis Kelce is almost impossible to stop as well, so I will go with the home team here. Chiefs 35- Bills 31
St Louis… Phoenix Arizona Cardinals vs SF 49ers
San Francisco will be starting their first round draft pick Trey Lance, as they take on the Arizona Cardinals, who feature Kyler Murray.I was wrong when I predicted that Murray would be a huge bust. That is why I have a real job outside of pontificating on this site. This pits two exciting quarterbacks with plenty of weapons. While Lance is electrifying and creates problems for defenses who have not been able to see enough film on him, the Cardinals are a top five defense who will exploit any mistake the rookie makes. DeAndre Hopkins and Murray are a bad dream for any defense and this is why Arizona will remain undefeated. Cardinals 38- Niners 21
Dallas Cowboys vs NY Giants
The next game makes me a bit nervous. Divisional match-ups are always uncertain. The Giants are the darlings of MTM Management and on quite the winning streak! Danny Dimes Jones actually looked decent as they made a heroic comeback last week. Saquon Barkley is starting to look like his old self. The Cowboys look like a much more well-rounded group, no thanks to their bumbling idiot coach, Mike McCarthy (we are attempting to get DNA tests to see if he is related to Small Matt) who has no clue about managing a game. Dak Prescott may have some jitters against the defense that ended his season last Fall. Zeke Elliott and Tony Pollard will continue to get plenty of reps and if they perform as they have this season, Big Blew will have a long day on defense. Commit to stop the run and Prescott will look to punish the Giants secondary with Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb and his new favorite tight end Dalton Schultz. The burning question is, will this be another Giants upset in Texas? LOL Cowboys 38- Giants 28
In other Key Games:
Packers over Bengals – 35-27
Panthers over Eagles – 21-17
Broncos over Steelers- 24-21
Raiders over Bears – 18-14
Can the NFL Referees let the players play? The calls made against defensive players making clean tackles is ruining the game!
Please feel free to Opine and be sure to stop back tomorrow for MTM’s Blaber Mouth… Junoir.
