NIAGARA FALLS, NY – Happy Last Week of July! I am still sore from all the landscaping I did this weekend. As I was plucking weeds by hand, I kept thinking off how I wouldn’t have to do this if I lived in the city. Anyway, there is still sports news to report on, so, let’s focus on today’s topics: Sports Rain Man: Mets Update, Snyder Sells Commanders, French Soccer Ad.
Weekly Mets Update
The New York Mets went 3-3 in their last six games. They currently stand about 11th in the National League, which puts them about five spots out of the one they need to be in. They are seven games behind the sixth place seed. With the MLB Trade Deadline looming, it is going to be hard to figure out what the Mets need to do. Should they sell or buy? I don’t know the answer, but I am an eternal optimist. I keep looking at this team and seeing flashes, winning three in a row, lose one… Win one and then lose two in a row. Do they have a chance to make a run for the playoffs or not? I want to keep hope but it might be best to just call this season done and look to reshape next season with a couple of the young guys. I am not sure who they have that they can sell, but it’s time to sell.
Snyder Sells The Commanders
The #NFL is finally rid of Dan Snyder. Look, the owners group are not bunch of Boy Scouts but even by their standards this rid them of a terrible owner. From his resistance to changing the team name and trying to buy a couple of Native American organizations off to that end, to the sexual harassment and hostile workplace environment stuff. Even after the sale he’s been fined 60 million dollars for the way he ran the organization re the hostile work environment. It is insane that players are immediately reprimanded for any misstep, but an owner can run an organization so horribly since 1999 and basically get away with it. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
French Soccer Ad
The Women’s World Cup started this week. leading up to it there’s been a lot of talk about this French soccer commercial. check jt out and let me know what you think.
It is a great troll bait ad and by the reaction to it, it seems to have really brought them all out in full force.
