HOLBROOK, NY – We have important things to discuss; let’s get into them: St. John’s Portal Splashes, NHL Playoffs Reactions, Knicks Up 2-0!
St. John’s Portal Splashes
Rick Pitino has reshaped the Red Storm into a top 25 team in a matter of days, with the addition of Devion Smith formally of Utah, and superstar Guard Kadary Richmond from arch-rival Seton Hall, Richmond is considered by many the best overall player in the portal and gives the Johnnies a top 3 team in the big east, behind the Creighton blue jays, and of course, the two-time defending champion Uconn huskies with the additions of the aforementioned Richmond and smith, to go along with the returning RJ Luis, Zuby Ejifor and Sim Wilcher along with another transfer Arron Scott of North Texas there is only one more roster spot open Rick Pitino and co will look to add a physical forward to replace last years captain Joel Soriano, Texas transfer Dillon Mitchell seems to be a good fit and would give the Johnnies a top 3-5 transfer class.
NHL Playoffs Reactions
Another classic at the “world’s most famous arena” on Tuesday night with another outstanding performance from goaltender Igor Shesterkin – who racked up an absurd 54 saves! Even in double overtime, 54 saves is an astronomical number. On Thursday night, Igor turned in another unreal performance (also in overtime), as the Rangers took a commanding 3-0 in Carolina over the Hurricanes.
Out west, we saw the Avalanche come from 3-0 down in Dallas to stun the Stars in Game 1. Game 2 saw top-seeded Dallas even the series at one apiece. I’m sure the people of Dallas are used to watching their sports teams blow big leads into big games. #OhSnap
The Canucks came back to defeat the Oilers on Wednesday night to take a 1-0 series lead.
Knicks Up 2-0!
Same story, different game. The ‘Nova Knicks once again put the city on their back and overcame more injuries and defects. Star forward OG Anunoby suffered a hamstring injury and couldn’t continue playing. The Knicks have announced that Anunoby will miss game three with a hamstring strain. They are hoping he can return in the series. The other significant injury was to none other than Jalen Brunson. Brunson left the game in the second quarter with a “foot injury,” leaving Knicks fans with their hearts in their throats. But the resilient star came out before the second half and proceeded to almost hang on 30 on one leg. Brunson is considered questionable for game three, but I don’t think there is a world in which he doesn’t play. The MVP of the season is Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets – and with good regard – but I think if any team has one player who is most valuable to its team, it’s Jalen Brunson.
That’s all I have. Feel free to comment and be sure to come back tomorrow for Aristotle Mugsy Sakellaridis.
