SPANISH HARLEM – With the Boston Celtics winning their 18th Championship this NBA Finals, we finally get to think about New York Knicks basketball again. I don’t know about you but I’m excited to see what the future holds for this team and organization. Let’s discuss some of those now.
The NBA Draft
It will take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, on ESPN. I won’t go into much detail today because I would like to do more research on the players that will be available and maybe make some predictions on who the Knicks will select. Just know that this draft is seen as one of the worst drafts in years. With no clear number one pick, there is not much hope of finding the type of player you can build around for years to come. There is a chance for quality rotation players that can be had throughout the first round but no team in the lottery is excited with the selection of players stockpiled in front of the draft. This should be a fun night for trades, as most people expect some high-profile players to be moved possibly on draft night.
Free Agency
Soon after the NBA draft, we get the start of Free Agency on June 30th, 2024. This off season will be interesting, as some teams will look to add players they believe will improve their chances of winning the NBA title… like say the Philadelphia 76ers. The Knicks are more interested in keeping their players that are free agents, which include Isaiah Hartenstein and OG Anunoby, but they can also be interested if a big star becomes available. It’s an exciting time to be a Knicks fan again and I will be on top of all the news to come and keep you informed on anything Knicks related this off season.
That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for more content.
