NBA Finals Picks and Preview, Mets Disaster Continues

Holbrook NY- Greetings, let’s hop right into today’s topics. NBA Finals Picks and Preview, Mets Disaster Continues.

NBA Finals Picks and Preview

The NBA finals are set.

Mavericks, Celtics should be an excellent series. The Celtics dominated the regular season and cruised through the decimated Eastern Conference losing just two games throughout the playoffs. The Celtics shouldn’t be held responsible for simply beating the teams put before them, however it really is worth mentioning how little this team was tested throughout the playoffs. To start, they faced a Miami team that didn’t have Jimmy Butler, a Cleveland team that didn’t have Donovan Mitchell or Jared Allen for several games and then a Pacers team without Tyrese Haliburton. The Celtics were large favorites in those series regardless of whether or not those players played or not. Yes, the Celtics played some very close games throughout but it never really felt like they were in any danger of losing at any point. Kristaps Porzingis is expected to return for Boston and should be a huge boost for the Celtics.

As for the Mavericks they’re peaking at exactly the right time. While Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic rightfully get most of the attention as they’ve looked like the best duo in basketball, it’s the role players for Dallas that have taken them to the next level. 1st rounder Derrick Lively and mid season acquisition PJ Washington have proven to be the perfect complimentary pieces to Luka and Kyrie. Something they’ve lacked in previous seasons. Similarly, the Celtics also have the perfect team to compliment their starts. Derrick White has emerged as the best role player in basketball, the additions of Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis have added scoring depth to a team that’s at times lacked it in recent years.

Ultimately for Boston it’ll come down to Tatum and Brown, if they can consistently play the way they have all year, this series shouldn’t be close, but that’s a big if. I’ll take the Celtics in 6 games in what should be a fantastic NBA finals.

Mets Disaster Continues

We’ve all seen what happened with the incident involving Jorge Lopez and his comments earlier this week. I personally think it’s more of an indictment on the state of this team’s clubhouse and the culture within rather than the player. For what it’s worth it did seem there was a translation issue and Lopez said he believed he was the worst teammate not playing for the worst team. My expectations for this team weren’t very high coming into the season, but this has been an embarrassment. They’ve blown countless games they should’ve won, several players seem disinterested and the others seem broken.
