SPANISH HARLEM – The New York Knicks advanced to the next round of the NBA Emirates Cup by beating the Orlando Magic by the score of 121-106. While the score itself shows it was a good win for the Knicks, it doesn’t show the extent of the beat down. At times they were up by as much as 30 points or more but cooled down in the 4th quarter when many of the starters were regulated to the bench.
The Magic are not only the NBA best defensive team but were also winners of 11 of their last 12 games, coming into the game as the one of the hottest teams in the league. Not only was it an important win for the Knickerbockers as a whole, but it also meant they got to extend their time in the NBA Emirates Cup, as a loss would mean the Knicks are out of the tournament. I will spare you the point differential stuff, as doing will only make my night a lot longer, just know that the Magic lost and continue to play Tournament somehow because of said point differential.
As a team, when thy are clicking on all cylinders, they look unbelievably good. It may seem when they are rolling on offense the way they, their defense looks worse but it’s because of the fast pace that they play. You can’t stop NBA teams scoring all game and when the Knicks score in bunches, it gives the other team more opportunities to get points on the board. Mikal Bridges looks like he is getting more comfortable in the offense, and we hope that continues, as he will only make them that much more dynamic on that side of the ball.
Let’s hope their winning ways continue.
I got a pop-up on my phone that Joe Burrow reveals on HBO’s Hard Knocks that he bought a Batmobile being sold by Wayne Enterprises Experiences (Great Name!). Let me just say… that’s freaking awesome. How many of us have said throughout the years “I wish I could buy one of those”? Kudos to Burrow for making one of the coolest purchases known to man.
That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for fellow Knick’s Fan Action Jackson Sternberg
