PORT JEFF, NYIs the Super Bowl even worth discussing? Short answer: No. There are more pressing topics to consider, such as: Jets and Rodgers Part Ways, Giants’ QB Situation, Pitchers/Catchers Reporting.

Jets and Rodgers Part Ways

It has been quite a journey with Aaron Rodgers as the starting quarterback for the Jets. On Thursday, that came to an end when the Jets officially announced they will be moving on from A-Rodg.

This raises questions:
-Where do the Jets go from here?
-Do they try to trade up for one of the top quarterbacks in this year’s draft?
-Do they sign a bridge quarterback like Justin Fields, or even consider a reunion with Sam Darnold?

Gang Green’s roster is still very good and has play-makers at almost every position. It would not be surprising to see the Jets bounce back with new head coach Arron Glenn.

Giants’ QB Situation

is well-known, with the team in need of a QB. The only question is which route they will take. There have been rumors that the G-Men are interested in Matthew Stafford as a one or two-year stopgap. There is a scenario where the Jints can land Stafford and still draft a quarterback of the future. If they decide to try a “win now” approach, they can go with Stafford and draft one of Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, or Mason Graham. All of this is speculation at this point, but if the Giants can pull it off, it would put them at least in the Wild Card picture to start next year.

Pitchers/Catchers Reporting

Baseball season is almost here! However, there are still some big names who have recently signed. Alex Bregman agreed to a three-year deal with the Red Sox, capping off a successful offseason for the team, which included signing Walker Buehler and trading for Garrett Crochet. Adding Bregman to a lineup with Devers, Casas, and Duran should position Boston well in the AL East.

Jackson Sternberg

The Padres signed former Red Sox pitcher Nick Pivetta to a four-year deal This move is somewhat surprising. The Padss not any other moves offseason and rumored to be to trade either Michael King or Dylan Cease. Every year seems the Padres are poised to step back from their all in approach, but they always find themselves competing in October. It would not be if the Padres to make a big trade before the season starts, with Luis Robert of the White Sox being a potential target.

That’s it for me. Comment below and come back tomorrow for the very opinionated Aristotle Mugsy Sakellaridis.
