TAMPA, FL – We are starting to see the effects of the legalization of marijuana. It’s up in da Bronx where Yankee fans are experiencing memory lapses. They’re upset that their scrub designated hitter, who used to go by the name of Mike Stanton, will be out for an undisclosed time period. Even the New York Post baseball writer, Jon Heyman, is going through some purple haze when he describes Giancarlo Stanton as a Yankees superstar.
Since former Miami Marlins CEO Derek Jeter dumped Stanton on his former team for the immortal Starlin Castro in 2017, the boo birds up in da Bronx have been loud and clear whenever the real life “Herman Munster” of a scrub steps to the plate. That’s before the month of October rolls around and Stanton turns into Reggie Jackson. It must be the fumes from reefer that fans forget the injury-prone D.H.’s performance during the season.
They jump on the Stanton bandwagon while abandoning their captain, Aaron Judge.

Yes, it’s true that the only month that matters in the Yankees Universe is October, but you still gotta get there first. For the fans and so-called “baseball experts” to expect Stanton to replace Juan Soto’s bat, I say keep lighting up.
I’m still waiting for the duo of Judge/Stanton to put up Mantle/Maris numbers, while I’m getting over the wait of Jacoby Ellsbury to be the next great Yankees center fielder
