TORPEDO THIS! Pitching Matters and Cavs Drop Knicks

Yankees, Nicks & return of Grimace - which should tick-off Angry Ward.

Spanish Harlem – Enough with the torpedo bats already, I’m tired of listening to people in the news talk about it like its steroids. That’s it, I’m done. Let’s move on to more pressing matters: Will the Yankees pitching be enough? Can the Knicks win the playoffs?

Pitching Matters

Coming into this season, everyone wanted to talk about how good the Yankees rotation could possibly be. That lasted a couple weeks until injuries, including to their Ace Gerrit Cole, started dropping like flies. Pitching in baseball is a precious thing because you never know how long you will have it. At any point in the season, someone in your rotation with deal with some kind of injury. You hope for the best yet lately it’s mostly worse than you want to hear.

This year is no exception, meaning this team will have to win with what they have. Max Fried is new and that is always something you look out for, especially when it comes to new pitchers in New York. Luis Gil should be back by the summer, though shoulders are never an easy thing to deal with. Clarke Schimdt is right around the corner and that should help strengthen the rotation but it’s hard not to think of what could’ve been if this group was fully healthy.

Knicks Lose to Cavs

Buddy Diaz

That makes this year’s team 0-8 against the top 3 teams in the NBA and before fans start seething about how lousy the Knicks have been, understand that playoff is different. You almost never play back to backs and coaches have more time to gameplan against one team in a 7-game series. The Knicks have not had much luck, and it feels like they are playing back to backs when they play against these teams, it still no excuse to lose the way they have. I’m just here to say, have more faith that things will be different when the playoffs start.

That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for more great content from Action Jackson Sternberg.
