Lawerence wants out, Mets continue to struggle.

PORT JEFF, I hope everyone’s enjoying the warm weather. Let’s dive into our topics. Lawrence wants out, and the Mets continue to struggle.

Lawrence wanted out, and the Giants had optimism for a few months after hiring new head coach, John Harbaugh. Some of that optimism quickly evaporated quickly as, star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence requested a trade just before the draft. Lawrence has been the best player on the Giants for the past four or five years. Although his production has decreased due to injury or scheme fits, losing a player of his caliber would be very, very difficult to replace if it comes, of course, with the caveat of potentially trading Lawrence for a half, much like the Jets got for Quinnen Williams if the Giants were able to pull that off, I don’t think anyone would complain. however, you don’t find players like him every day, and it would take a lot for the Giants to move him even if he insists he wants out.

The Mets struggle to continue. Unfortunately, we have to cover the Mets after a disastrous home stand, which saw the Mets getting swept by the Sacramento athletics. The Mets moved west to face the defending champion, the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was only about what you expect, and I do mean the only silver lining of this terrible series was that the world saw how great Nolan McLean is going to be. McLean shut down the Dodgers for seven innings and gave his team every chance to win a game that they must have. Juan Soto will soon return, perhaps on the next Homestead. But there are still so many questions about this offense moving on from guys like McNeil and Nimmo, who, although in previous season, their strikeout numbers have risen normally do not strike out. That was the purpose for moving at least McNeil, which I still do not understand. McNeil would at least put the ball and play and give us a chance. Nummo would at least get on base. I know it’s still April in this team may well start performing, but so far in his tenure, David Sterns  has failed the core of the Mets, which currently sits as Lindor Soto, McLean, and perhaps Francisco Alvarez, are all currently under contract for years to come if there’s any reason for optimism with this group, it’s for the players I named, including Carson Benge and the many prospects that the Mets have in their system who are supposed to be very highly talented, although it looks bleak now it only takes one to start a new winning streak.
