Port Jeff NY- Greetings, let’s get right into today’s topic.
NFL Trade Deadline
This has already been an extremely active NFL trade deadline, much more so then we’ve seen in recent years.
Bears get Simmons
The biggest deal we’ve seen yet. The Bears traded two first round picks to the Titans in exchange for star defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons. This is a lot to give up, but this is a team that can win the Super Bowl and is going all in. Simmons is a monster, he instantly becomes the Bears most impactful player on defense.
Seahawks get Nelson.
This won’t get as much attention as the Simmons trade, however this is an incredible move for Seattle. Quintin Nelsonhas been one of the best guards in football since entering the league and should instantly improve this O-Line that’s struggled to protect Sam Darnold after it was so good a year ago. If Seattle can keep Darnold upright and establish the run again, the Seahawks are very live for another run at a Super Bowl.

Taylor next?
It widely reported that the Colts firesale will now include star Running Back Jonathan Taylor. There are a handful of team that Taylor would be a suitor for. IMO the team that makes a ton of sense is the Denver Broncos. The Broncosdefense has been its usual dominant self, however this offense has been brutal. Inject Jonathan Taylor into this situation with one of the best O-lines in football and they instantly become one of the best teams in the AFC. Among others, the Giants have been strongly linked to Taylor. I don’t think this is a move the Giants should make. For one while they are more likely than not to make the playoffs at this point, I just don’t believe this team is good enough for a deep playoff run. Trading away a first or second round pick for an older running back is almost never a good idea.
