ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY – Longtime fan favorite, hotelier and 30-30 man, Howard Johnson, came out of retirement to play with his son, Glen, for the Rockland Boulders vs the Newark Bears. We were there to capture the moment and speak with the Johnson boys!
We’re not sure if our engine-room interview gives you the proper perspective, but this is a little baseball oasis they’ve built up in Rockland County – Pomona, to be exact. Provident Bank Park opened in May and couldn’t be better. There’s everything cool about the new MLB Parks, without the forced and awkward quirks (ahem, Flushing) and mind-numbing prices. Kid-friendly, group friendly and party friendly. And no, we’re not getting paid by the the Big Blue Boulder Bird.
NEXT: Look for our upcoming interviews with Newark Bears Manager and future Hall of Famer, Tim “Rock” Raines, Pitching Coach Jose Canseco and star player, Burt Reynolds, who aside from having his name engraved on the Walk Of Fame, is also Robinson Cano’s cousin.
Different Matt, tomorrow.
