Mets, Yankees Continue Their Winning Ways, NBA Finals Game 6

Could Cash or Buck fix the Celts? No. And that ends the connection with this photo.

SPANISH HARLEM – It’s a good time to be a New York baseball fan. The New York Yankees and Mets are in 1st place and we also get Game 6 of the NBA FinalsWhat more can you ask for? Let’s get right to it.

New York Mets

I won’t fake the funk here and act like I’m watching Met games but I do read a lot of sports stuff, especially baseball. It’s hard not to be impressed with this club when you consider that two of their most important players have missed considerable time on the injured list. Yet, the Mets keep on chugging along winning games (except for last night). In years past, things would of went from bad to worse but with Buck Showalter at the helm, that will not happen.

Reminder to all Met fans: the best thing they have done in over 20 years was hire a former Yankees manager and Brian Cashman’s assistant GM… YOU’RE WELCOME!

New York Yankees

Buddy Diaz: Eagles fan.

The pitching has been the biggest reason for the turnaround from last year but you also have to praise a lineup that doesn’t just hit homers and strikeout (though they still do quite a bit). My point is, this is a better team overall than we have seen in a while now. Sure, there were times when the Yankees were the favorite to win it all but this season just feels different. They were still favorites but we soon realized there a lot of flaws when everything was said and done. Now, not so much and it’s mainly the starting pitching. And also in the way they are scoring runs. In all honesty, it’s a better game to watch when you’re not sitting around waiting for 3-run homers.

NBA Finals

The Golden State Warriors are one win away from another championship and though everyone is picking them to win tomorrow, I would not be surprised this goes to game 7. I dislike the Boston Celtics but they are a really good team that plays great defense and when you can do that, you can win any game… even a do or die one. I could wrong and on Friday everybody may be calling Angry Ward’s Warriors one of the best dynasties in  NBA history… but my gut tells me otherwise.

That’s it for now, come back tomorrow for Cam James or Different Matt.
