BLOOMINGBURG, NY – Here we are. Today is the long-awaited Sunday for most American professional football fans. Years ago these championship games were always better than the final game – called that Dirty Trademarked Name. Even though the first Sunday in February Big Games have been more competitive the past decade, the AFC and NFC title games have been my favorites, and it truly is the last normal pigskin weekend before the non-fan grab ruins things with the anticipation of new commercials, halftime shows and box pool madness. Enjoy these games and the following gambling advice, as per Cheesy Bruin’s FREE NFL Picks.
Tampa Bay @ Green Bay 3:05
It’s hard to imagine a Tom Brady vs Aaron Rodgers match-up not being the marquis game today but this is the NFL’s way of saying they’re going with the new faces of the shield to lead the nation into prime time hours. The Chiefs are the defending champs and that carries a lot of weight so either way the NFL wins today no matter how they scheduled this twin bill. Handicapping this game isn’t easy and two of the best ever quarterbacks even at their current ages makes it even more difficult to figure. The Pack and the Bucs are riding seven and six game winning streaks and the Cheeseheads are the obligatory three-point home field favorite. As much as this can be a ball control kind of offensive game that threatens the over/under number it can easily gain momentum and be a complete offensive display that explodes the scoreboard. Sports league’s often come under scrutiny for promoting a certain matchup and short of choreographing how the drama unfolds I can see the NFL looking forward to a Brady-Mahomes Big Game ratings bonanza. That being said, let the conspiracy take hold with the following pick: Tampa Bay Bucs +3.5 over GREEN BAY PACKERS
Buffalo @ Kansas City 6:40
This game appears clearer to me. Pat Mahomes got his bell rung a bit last week and the hobble he had due to that ankle ailment was noticeable and sets the stage for a valiant return to defend the Lombardi Trophy with his mates in two weeks. I’m also sitting on the hopes that the Chiefs being overdue to put a forty spot on somebody and that’s coming later on today. Meanwhile across the gridiron, the upstart Bills confront their woeful post-season history. This bunch, while talented, needs to take another step before thinking of challenging the status quo in the AFC next year and so the sub plot for 2021 takes hold later on this evening. The Bills still need some help on defense to compete with the likes of an Andy Reid/Eric Bienemy constructed machine. This will be close at the half until KC pulls far away in the second. Josh Allen finally turns the ball over in the red zone… TWICE! The Picks? KANSAS CITY CHIEFS -3 over Buffalo Bills AND OVER 54.5
