Sports Rain Man: Cowboys Lasso Giants, Jets Crash In Miami, Bills Stomp Panthers & NFL News

EL BARRIO, EL FALLS – Happy Monday Are you ready for football 5 out of 6 days!?! Thanks to #Omicron version of #Covid, we have some Sunday games on Tuesday and had a game on Saturday! With no college football, there was no competition.  As has been the case for this season for the New York teams, the Orchard Park… um, Buffalo Bills were the only one of the three that won. Anyway, let’s get to today’s topics: Cowboys Lasso Giants, Jets Crash In Miami, Bills Stomp Panthers & NFL News.

Cowboys Lasso Giants

Giants continue to suck! The Big Blue  offense is beyond inept. Longneck Mike Glennon threw three interceptions, star running back Saquon Barkley also fumbled. But the biggest turnover was when Glennon got stuffed on a fourth and 1 on the Dallas 29 yard line in the third quarter. After getting  stopped, the Cowboys took the ball and 5 plays later, they were in the end-zone and the lead was insurmountable. The only highlight was on the final drive of the game; the Giants let Jake Fromm (State Farm) into the game and he went 6 for 12. At this point, I believe they should let Jakie Boy start the next game. What do they have to lose.

Jets Crash In Miami

Jets showed signs of improvementGang Green had a spectacular trick play in the game. It is what most will remember. However, they almost had a victory but in typical Jets fashion… they blew it. The J-E-T-S had rushing TDs from the QB and WR and were up 17-7 in the first half. They let the Dolphins back into the game and take the lead 23-17. Then the NY/NJ defense came up big with a pick 6 to take the lead 24-23. However, on the next Miami drive the Jets D couldn’t get a stop when it was needed and the ‘Phins threw for a touchdown to go up 31-24 and win by that number. The defense was better but not clutch and QB Zach Wilson threw for under 200 yards but there were no interceptions. It was a positive step and for a team already eliminated that was the best they were gonna do.

Bills Stomp Panthers

Bills got back in the win column…  The Panthers seem to provide just the right tonic for whatever ailed the Bills. Buffalo got a rushing TD and it wasn’t from Josh Allen. The Bills offense took a couple of quarters to get on track but when they did, the Panthers defense had no answer. The defense held the Carolina attack in check. Yeah, the Panthers are horrible competition with a very bad record but it gave the Bills a chance to improve.

Elsewhere in the NFL
Lions upset Cards: No Vegas bookie could have seen this upset coming. Detroit dominated the Cards from start to finish and on both sides of the ball.
Playoffs Coming into focus: The Patriots lost to the Colts and the Chiefs beating the Chargers puts KC in the 1 seed in the AFC. The Pats are the 2 seed and set-up to face the Bills, who the 7th seed… In the NFCGreen Bay’s win against Baltimore gives them the #1 seed in the NFC followed by the Cowboys. Then it’s the Bucs and Cardinals. If things stopped today, the Saints would face the Bucs and the Rams vs. Cardinals.

Thanks for reading, comment below and come back tomorrow for our Big Ben Whitney – with lots to say on how the Giants should rebuild.
