SWEAT STAINS, AZ – Let’s talk about the Super Bowl halftime show. The buildup for Ms. Robyn Rihanna Fenty, who is known simply as #Rihanna, gave the impression that this was gonna be a super performance.
Her last album titled Anti was released in 2016. The songs were some of her best, but not so for the Grammys. The awards show stiffed her badly. Since then she’s released a few singles with the song Lift Me Up from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack being her latest hit.
The anticipation for the show was during the commercial breaks with the coming up teases. The clock was ticking towards halftime, as America and the rest of the world waited for the Barbadian Beauty to do her thing. And there she was, dressed in red and opening with Bitch Better Have My Money. Could it have been a message to the NFL to forgo its policy of not paying the halftime performers?
Rihanna hurried through her hits like she had only 15 minutes to perform and she did, with no time outs. At the end of her last song, when it was all said and done, the buildup was nothing but a tease.
The show stunk.
Thank God the game overshadowed her performance.
Patrick Mahomes and his troops saved the yearly event with a game that went down to the wire. The singer, who had a chance to show the Grammys how they blew it, took 15 minutes to blow it. The memory of MJ, Prince, and even Bruno Mars’ past performances will make one forget about RiRi’s sucky show in Super Bowl LVII.
