Giants Hope? Mets Dream Offseason, Local College Hoops Predictions

HOLBROOK, NY – Hello, again. It’s FSS Jackson reporting live from the MTM Satellite HQ on Long island. Pleasantries aside, let’s get to today’s topics: Giants Hope? Mets Dream Offseason, Local College Hoops Predictions

Mets Dream Offseason

The New York Mets have a lot of holes to fill this winter. Allow me to put on my General Manger hat for a second and walk you through a successful offseason – through the eyes of the youngest MTM correspondent. Let’s first address target #1 – no, it’s not Ohtani. Instead, it happens to be a free agent SP in Japan – Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The 25-year-old is scheduled to be posted from Japan in the following months. The Amazins would be getting a second  Japanese superstar to pair Kodai Senga. Segna, just came off of a fabulous rookie season and has publicly stated his desire for the team to go out and sign the his countryman. If this were to happen, the Mets would have as good a 1-2 punch as anyone in baseball. We’ve seen in this years postseason if you have two true aces, you can go as far as they take you.

The next glaring hole would be DH. One name that instantly jumps out to me is JD Martinez. In one of my previous articles, I bashed the brass for not trading for the slugger just last season. He would not only provide some much-needed protection for the superstars Alonso and Lindor, but would not break the bank for a premier bat.

Giants Hope?

Moving onto the New York Giants… After beating the Commanders on Sunday, my internal optimism is showing. If the Jints can beat Zach Wilson and the Jets this Sunday, they would have a legit shot to make the playoffs… WAIT! Just hear me out! With games against the Raiders, Rams, Saints and Packers, Big Blue could be primed for a late season run. The defense is just now rounding into form and could be a top ten unit.  Getting the best left tackle in football back shouldnt hurt either. This makes for hope!

Local College Hoops Predictions

College basketball season is so close you can almost hear the overreactions after the first week. I’ll keep this short, as per management… I think my beloved Red Storm will go 21-10, with some signature wins over Michigan, Villanova and UConn, to make the NCAA tournament… Some other local teams will have some success as well. Hoftsra will make a push to represent their league in March… The Fordham Rams are my sleeper team in the A-10.

That’s it for me. Feel free to add your comments below.

Jackson and his twin brother Jacob are son's of MTM legend, Al Sternberg. Being the youngest of the twins by 10 minutes, Jackson knows the value of time. Look for him and Jacob to collaborate and/or create separately. Family quirk: the twins don Speedos when wake-boarding on Long Island's beaches.
