Josh Gibson: Still a Negro to Major League Baseball

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – I don’t mean to beat on a dead horse but here goes: Major League Baseball has done it again. The latest mockery they’ve pulled off is adding the Negro League stats to those of MLB. This is another way to say, I’m sorry to the so-called Negro player for not letting him participate in the league during the pre-Jackie Robinson Era.

This is totally Major League Bullsh!t, as they announced that Josh Gibson will now be the new all-time leader in slugging percentage, over Babe Ruth, and lifetime batting average, over Ty Cobb.

Numerous other players who were banned from playing because of their skin tone, will move up the ladder in the All-Time statistics dept., even though they never played in the MLB.

MLB should be ashamed of themselves for their racist views when referring to an American ballplayer with a darker complexion as a Negro. When I was growing up, I watched Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Lou Brock, and Willie Stargell. Not once did I view them as Negroes. They were just great ballplayers to me. Mays was a Giant. Aaron was a Brave. Brock was a Cardinal. Stargell was a Pirate.

As youths, my crew was colorblind. We were all Americans. It’s 2024 and MLB is still labeling Americans by their skin tone.

The bullies at MLB have jumped on he Woke bandwagon and let their own ignorance and guilt make this stupid decision. How accurate are these statistics? With the claim of Josh Gibson hitting over 1000 home runs, does that count exhibition and barnstorming games? Babe Ruth’s granddaughter, Linda Ruth Tosetti, wants to know. She stated, “My grandfather played a ton of barnstorming games and hit his share of home runs. Are they going to add those to his 714 total?” She also ranted, “He always supported the Negro Leagues and now MLB is trying to cancel him by taking him off the top of the list.”

Why should MLB stop here? Where were the Japanese players back then? Will they make amends by having the stats of Japan’s leagues also count? Will Sadaharu Oh’s 868 home runs make him the all time leader. Will Ichiro Suzuki’s 1278 hIts in Japan, combined with his 3089 MLB hits, make him the new Hit King?

MLB has stooped to a new low and has shown its true colors. By identifying a human being by their skin tone and labeling them with the term Negro, it shows nothing has changed.
