FLUSHING, NY – Back in the days when a home run was hit by New York Yankees slugger Mickey Mantle, a celebration would erupt from everyone but The Mick.  The man who hit 536 career homers would put his head down and quickly jog the bases. His theory was that he didn’t want to embarrass the pitcher, who was probably feeling bad about being the one who threw the pitch.

Players of today probably never heard of Mickey Mantle, but they know NY Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor. For those that clap and shout during their home run trot, studying Lindor’s trot is a must. Mr. Smile is a true pro. The 30-year-old hit two of his biggest home runs last week, and afterwards did his best Mantle impersonation, while everyone around him went nuts.

Lindor’s demeanor in moments like this are equivalent to an assassin. He is the perfect partner in crime, with the word “showboat” being obsolete from his persona.

Both of Lindor’s blasts put a whole new meaning into the Mets slogan of, Oh My God. These clowns, who portray themselves as major league players, need to watch Lindor’s swag as he glides from base to base with the aura of Fonzie from Happy Days.

The true MVP candidate was as cool as they come with his “just another homer” mentality. Mr. Smile wouldn’t even crack a grin, as he created drama with one swing of the bat.

With that the Mets move on to the next round where Mr. Lindor will try to continue his heroics and become the Toast of the Town.
