PORT JEFF, NY – Greetings, let’s talk sport! Or sports?! Smoke Cleared, Hype Over: A Fresh Look At The NFL Draft
NFL Draft
Giants
The Giants drafted edge rusher Abdul Carter with the number three pick in this years draft, and then traded back into the first round to draft QB Jaxson Dart with the 26th pick. I love the Abdul Carter pick. Carter was one of the safest picks on the board and should immediately become a premier pass rusher in this league. Carter joins Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodeaux to form one of the best defensive lines in football. I really like what Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll have done on the defensive side of the ball. As for the Dart pick. I’m not upset that the Giants traded up to select dart. I like everyone else have absolutely no idea if he’ll be any good, some scouts say he reeks of Drew Lock, while other suggest he has a very high ceiling. It’s better than doing nothing, why not take a shot on a guy that the Head Coach seems to believe in. With the bizarre offseason the Giants have had at QB specifically signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, it’s almost certain Dart won’t see the field in his rookie season. Which I don’t have a problem with. Let him learn behind two veteran QBs and allow Brian Daboll to work his magic behind the scenes.
Shedeur Sanders

The wait finally ended Saturday afternoon when the Cleveland Browns used their 5th round pick to select the Colorado QB. I don’t think we’ve ever seen a fall or a flat out misread by all the so called “experts” quite like this one. For the better part of a year every single mock draft Shedeur Sanders at minimum a top 10 pick with some suggesting he could go first overall. Apparently the NFL felt differently. What makes this situation even more bizarre is sanders was selected well after Dillon Gabriel who the Browns also drafted and Tyler Shough, both of who projected to be mid to late round picks. This whole thing doesn’t make any sense, maybe Shedeur had a horrible attitude in many of the interviews and the teams sent a bit of a collective message as a response. Whatever the case is, sanders ends up a brown. I have no idea how this plays out with Cleveland, however what I do know is Kevin Stefanski is an excellent offensive coach and all things considered this is as good a spot for Sanders to actually have a chance of being a starting QB
