PORT JEFF, NY -I hope everyone is doing well, here’s what we got, MLB Hot Stove, Johnnies Head to Vegas, Shedeur’s First Start.
MLB Hot Stove
As the MLB hot stove begins to heat up with trades and minor signings already underway, the first trade of the offseason comes from the Orioles, a team that was arguably one of the most disappointing in 2025. In a surprising development, the Orioles traded Grayson Rodriguez to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for outfielder Taylor Ward. This move is perplexing, as the Orioles are actively seeking an ace-caliber pitcher and appeared to have one in Rodriguez, were it not for his injury setbacks last season.
The Yankees garnered significant attention by re-signing Trent Grisham on a qualifying offer worth $22 million for just one season. Grisham was coming off a career-best year with the Bronx Bombers, during which he hit over 30 home runs and showcased Gold Glove-caliber defense, solidifying his reputation as both a potent offensive force and an elite defensive presence.
Other notable moves include the Braves bringing back their closer Raisel Iglesias and trading for Astros’ super-utility man Mauricio Dubon. Reports indicate the Braves are comfortable with Dubon taking over as their everyday shortstop.
Johnnies Head to Vegas
The Red Storm heads to the Players Era Festival, a multi-team event highlighting some of the top programs in college basketball. They will face 16th-ranked Iowa State on Monday, followed by a matchup against Baylor on Tuesday, the team that ended their run in heartbreaking fashion last season in the Bahamas. With the Big East struggling in non-conference play, and Marquette experiencing early-season difficulties, it is crucial for the Red Storm to secure quality non-conference victories before league play begins.
Shedeur’s First Start

With an injury to Cleveland’s starting QB Dillon Gabriel, the Browns will turn to Shedeur Sanders to make his first NFL start, in relief of Gabreil last week, Sanders showed some flashes in a tough loss to a really good ravens’ team, and will get a chance this week against the scuffling Raiders, to prove he belongs and get a legit chance to win the starting QB role for the rest of the season.
