PORT JEFF, NY – Happy Friday friends! Here’s what we got: AJ Styles retires, UConn-St John’s part 2.

AJ Styles Calls It a Career

It’s been a minute since we’ve spoken about the landscape of wrestling but one of the more stunning recent events warrants it. The Phenomenal One is done. AJ Styles one of my personal favorites even before he came to WWE retired. I’ll never forget when he made his debut at the Royal Rumble in 2016. I nearly lost my mind with excitement. Styles was ahead of his time in a sense by being one of the best pure wrestlers in all of professional wrestling.

You’ve heard of the term Superstar – and sports entertainer thrown out a lot over the past decade or so. AJ Styles was a pure wrestler. And it was a damn good one. It’s not just a headline — it’s the end of an era.

Tip of the cap, Phenomenal One.

UConn 72, St. John’s 40 — Ouch

Jackson Sternberg

As a St. John’s fan, losing to anybody in conference play really sucks. Losing to UConn is almost unbearable. However, considering how hot this team has been for the past two months, I think they deserve a mulligan.

No one wins in UConn – at least not since Dan Hurley took over the Huskies in 2015. Despite the 72-to-40 blowout, in which the Johnnies made only two shots in the second half, the Red Storm still control their destin in the Big East. Three massive games are coming up to finish out the regular season.

Tomorrow they get a chance of redemption to take on one of the other top teams –  Villanova  -at Madison Square Garden.Even though this is not the result that we hoped for, it could be a good thing.  This team needs a wake-up call going into March and Saturday will be a massive game for them, as they are currently tied with UConn. BUT –  but if the Rick Pitino’s squad wins their remaining three games, they will be Big East champs again.

File the UConn nightmare. Flush it. Learn from it. Win the next three.

March is coming.
