CLIFTON PARK, NY – Between the start of the NFL Preseason and some important August baseball being 
played, a lot is happening in the sports world. So it’s probable best to just skip straight to the point.

Jose Reyes is the Yankees’ missing link. Remember the time when you had to actually be able to hit the baseball regularly to start in the MLB? Yeah, me too.
Something has changed and a player like Stephen Drew can bat .194 and still be the New York Yankees’ everyday second baseman. Isn’t there something wrong with that?
But hey, maybe there’s a fix, and his name is Jose Reyes. The Colorado Rockies shortstop clear waivers late last week, and reports say the Yankees reached out to the NL West bottom dweller.
Reyes could be the missing link. And honestly, I don’t think it would take too much to get him. If they Yankees could acquire him without having to trade Luis Severino or Aaron Judge, I’m all for it. Reyes would add a bat that the Yankees are in need and it would solidify second base for the next few years.
Jarryd Hayne impresses in NFL debut. If you’ve ever visited RugbyWrapUp.com, then the name Jarryd Hayne should be pretty familiar to you.
Hayne made the transition from rugby to football earlier during the NFL off-season, and all accounts out of San Francisco say that the rookie running back is impressing in 49ers camp. And that includes his first preseason game.
Hayne led all 49ers rushers with 63 yards, recorded a kickoff return for 33 yards and returned two punts for 24 yards in the 49ers game against the Houston Texans on Saturday. So far, so good for the dual-sport athlete.
Tyrod Taylor will win the starting job in Buffalo. When you think of Tyrod Taylor, the word ‘exciting’ 
should be the first one to pop into your head. And ‘exciting’ isn’t the word you would associate with any Buffalo Bills quarterback this turn of the millennium, except for Doug Flutie.
While Matt Cassel is certainly the safer bet at quarterback, Taylor is the more exciting option.
If Taylor can continue his play from Friday night’s preseason game and Sunday’s practice the rest of the week and into Thursday night’s game against the Cleveland Browns, the starting job will be his.
