Ebs’ Hot Takes: Rex Ryan, Injuries, Seattle Seahawks

WILKES-BARRE, PA – It was quite a weekend for football.rex-ryan

And with the Buffalo Bills playing on Thursday, I actually got to enjoy a full Sunday of football without having to worry about them.

So with that being said, let’s get right to it.

Here’s this week’s set of Ebs’ Hot Takes!

One Bills Drive is not on fire. At least, I’m pretty sure it’s not.

Look, a lot of you probably already have your minds made up about the Buffalo Bills and Rex Ryan. Heck, I know the national media does.

But in case you’re still on the fence and haven’t made your mind up on Rex and Bills yet, I will say this to you… Firing Greg Roman was the right decision.

Could they have fired Dennis Thurman? Sure. I’m not quite that sure what he’s doing anyways. But under Roman, the offense wasn’t very good. It was predictable, Sammy Watkins wasn’t involved as much as he should have been and it was too reliant on the run.

I’m interested to see what the offense looks like with Anthony Lynn in charge. Hopefully things will be different and this jumpstarts the Bills, just like the promotion of Jim Bob Cooter did for the Detroit Lions last year.

The injury bug is rampant in the NFL right now. Everybody knows football is a dangerous game and you can get hurt on any and every play.

But boy, look at who went down this weekend. Adrian Peterson, DeMarcus Ware, Jimmy Garoppolo, Josh McCown and the list goes on. It’s absolutely incredible. But this is when you test your depth. You draft for times like this.

We know Jerrick McKinnon is a capable backup, while clearly Cody Kessler and Jacoby Brissett might not be

ready for the limelight.

So maybe the Browns aren’t ready for stardom yet, but maybe the New England Patriots will have to slow their roll about that 4-0 start without Tom Brady.

What is going on with the Seattle Seahawks? No, really. I mean, what is going on with them?

First, the Seahawks need a last-minute touchdown to beat the Miami Dolphins and then they lose to the freaking LA Rams? I mean, come on. The San Francisco 49ers tore up the Rams last week.

Maybe we should all be worrying about the Seahawks?

P.S. If you’re looking for something to jump-start your Monday morning, check out Philadelphia Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos‘ performance during the America’s Got Talent Finals. Dorenbos finished third.

Also, his message is pretty great considering what’s going on in this nation right now.
