EL BARRIO, EL FALLS – This is the ultimate pitch hit. Got the call about an hour or so ago, get well Mr. Whitney, the elder. I don’t have much time for a nice fluffy intro, lets get into. The usual formula is a Song of the Week before we get to the Sports Stuff then the sports. The sports covered today is Return of Quebec City, Kaepernick Protest and Lewd Sports Fans.
Song of the Week: I listen to a lot of hip-hop. I have begun listening to Canadian hip hop and now British hip hop. British hardcore hip hop rap is called Grime. The hottest artist in Grime currently is Stormzy, and having listened to his whole album Gang Signs and Prayer, I can honestly recommend it. One of my favorite songs from that Album is Blinded by your Grace, part 1 and 2. Here is part 1, enjoy the track.`
NHL Players Want Quebec City Back: According to a USA today article, apparently when NHL players are asked where they would like the league to expand to next they went retro and said put a team back in Quebec City. This isn’t surprising because players want to play in a city where they are loved and fans live and breathe the game. The intense pressure is tough but most athletes love the idea of know that should they win the title, they will be gods in their city. You can become a god in Quebec City not so much Las Vegas, Tampa Bay or Phoenix.
Kaepernick protest: That man, Colin Kaepernick, won’t go away. Well it is not him, it is his fans and supporters. They organized protests in Los Angeles and in Chicago over the weekend. I want to again show my support for these guys and Kaep. In a league where domestic abusers are resigned with no problem, along with gun violations and drug use, the idea that a man who uses his position to make a political statement is rendered untouchable is a joke and speaks to how morally abject the league, its owners and commissioner are.
Buffalo Sports Fans: Last time I wrote, I discussed the low class of Buffalo Bills fans. Well courtesy of the folks at Maxim, we have new evidence that makes Bills fans, the leaders in lewd behavior for sports fans. The pic to the left is from the article.
