SPANISH HARLEM – Only three days left to the Super Bowl, and as an Eagles fan, that means 3 more long days of anticipation. Come Monday, I will either be unbelievably happy or downright disappointed. Still, I can’t wait to watch my Philadelphia Eagles play on Sunday. Before I go into that, I want to cover the new owner of the NBA scoring title… LeBron James.
Lebron James
I honestly never believed the NBA scoring record would ever be broken. It seemed like one of those records that would never be surpassed – but yet here we are. If there is one thing that rings true in sports, its that records are meant to be broken. I thought the same with Lou Gehrig consecutive games streak and then Cal Ripken came along and said “Hold my beer.” Congratulations to King James, who has been a generational talent and what many consider the #GOAT. Still, it’s still crazy to think that Kareem Abdul-Jabber played 4 years of college basketball – but that is besides the point. The numbers are what they are and they were broken last night.
Back to my Eagles...
Keys To Victory
There is no way to sugarcoat it, the defensive line has to put pressure on Patrick Mahomes without blitzing. We know how good he can be against the blitz but getting pressure will be a key if this team is going to win.
The Kansas City Chiefs don’t have a Wide Receiver that scares you, so the Eagles corners match up well. The problem will be Travis Kelce, who is an all-time great and Mahomes’ favorite target. If we are getting pressure with 4, that will allow more linebackers and secondary to cover Kelce.
On offense, the Iggles have not thrown the ball as well since Jalen Hurts‘ injury. Where you really see it is in the deep ball. Jalen has made every other throw but the touch on the some the of long passes has not been there. Still, I believe this team can the run the ball on anybody in the NFL. We showed that against the number 1 defense two weeks ago and I believe that the running game will play a major part in winning.
If you want to root against me and the Eagles, that’s fine. Just know that I grew up around tons of Giants fans, so I’m used it.
Fly Eagles, Fly!!!
