HOLBROOK, NY – Happy Thanksgiving [weekend] everyone. FSS Jackson, here! Pleasantries aside, let’s get to today’s topics: Thanksgiving NFL Stunner, MLB Hot Stove, Giant Pride
Thanksgiving NFL Stunner
In the first of three Turkey Day battles, the Green Bay Packers stunned rival Detroit yesterday with a dominant defensive effort to STUN the NFL Universe. Some mind-numbing play-calling had Lions’ fans vomiting in their seats and us betting the game screaming “FIXINS!” Suffice to say, Detroit fans lost their appetites early. Eric Hipple was unavailable for comment.
MLB Hotstove
The St Louis Cardinals made a pair of solid moves by snagging Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson, both pitchers can eat up some innings, coming off down seasons. The Cards, like most teams in baseball, neeeded some innings-eaters. Rounding out the day, the defending NL champion D-Backs acquired Eugenio Suarez from Angry Ward’s Seattle Mariners.
Giant Pride
I’d like to give a small shout-out to the New York Football Giants. Most fans and pundits have written this team off, and with good reason. BUT… there is still some pigskin to play and still things to get excited about. Second year man Kayvon Thibodeaux has 10.5 sacks and is giving the Jints a true pass rushing threat – one they haven’t seen since JPP played with firecrackers! Not to mention the best DT in football “Sexy Dexy” Dexter Lawrence .
Covering the other side of the ball, Saquon Barkley looks more like the dynamic game-changer he is every week. Some fans think these next few games may be the last time we see number 26 in a Big Blue uniform. I’d like to see Saquon back next year. Give him another season with Brian Daboll.
Okay, that enough for you to digest… I hope everyone had a fantasticTthanksgiving.
