New York’s Revenge On Philly, NFL Playoff Preview, Nick Saban Calls It Quits

HOLBROOK,NY – Since the first of today’s topics deals with New York, I just wanted to get one thing out of the way: When the Islanders are the only NYC-area team to win on a given night, I’ll talk about things outside the NYC area. The Fish Sticks ain’t worthy of air time. With that out of the way, here’s today’s slate: New York’s Revenge On Philly, NFL Playoff Preview, Nick Saban Calls It Quits

New York’s Revenge On Philly

It’s no secret that the City of Brotherly Love has had New York’s number for the past decade. As a fan of three New York teams who have been owned by that ****hole., it was nice to see some push back. It started on Friday night when the new-look Knicks routed the 76ers on national TV…  The next form of revenge for NY, St John’s went into a place they haven’t won in 30 plus years. (I haven’t even been alive for that long!) beating the Villanova Wildcats by ten, in a game that was not even that close… The cherry on top of this beautiful weekend was the Giants throwing a wrench into the Eagles playoff aspirations, Yes the Eagles are still in the postseason, but Jalen Hurts looked to hurt his finger in the loss, as well as star WR AJ Brown.

Speaking of the Eagles, let’s get into some of the more intriguing matchups. The Defending Champion Kansas City Chiefs host the scuffling Miami Dolphins in what could be one of the coldest games in playoff history, I think the blueprint on how to beat Miami was laid out by the Baltimore Ravens a few weeks ago. Score early and often. Surprisingly the Dolphins don’t seem to be built to come back, at least not without Jaylen Waddle, and Tyreek Hill Not at 100%. The Fish had a much easier path to represent the AFC in the Super bowl by simply beating a hot and cold Bills team at home. The aforementioned Eagles will travel to Tampa Bay to take on a pesky Bucs team, led by former first overall draft pick Baker Mayfield. My Heart really wants to take Tampa Bay in this game but my head does not see a scenario where the Birds don’t get right.

Nick Saban Calls It Quits

In a shocking turn of events Legendary head Coach Nick Saban called it a career on Wednesday, The immediate reaction to this news is, who’s the next head coach of the tide? Oregon’s Head coach Dan Lanning has been a popular name thus far, Others have Ranged from Clemson’s  Head coach Dabo Swinney to Lane Kiffin of Ole miss. Whoever it may be, needless to say, some pretty big shoes to be filled.

Before wrapping  up today,  I must say Rest in Peace to Mets Legend Buddy Harrelson, who signed a bat for my brother and me many moons ago. We still remember it fondly.
