Sports Rain Man: MLB East is a Beast, Fantasy Football, “Untold” Documentaries

EL BARRIO, EL FALLSHappy Labor Day to you all. I am sure you are reading this at a great vacation spot or on the road back from a great vacation spot. Don’t worry, you will get back to it soon. In the meantime lets get to today’s topics. On tap today are… MLB East is a Beast, Fantasy Football & “Untold” Documentaries.

MLB East is a Beast

Have you looked at the MLB Standings lately?! I took a look and I couldn’t believe how many teams where chasing playoff spots from the East coast.
-In the American League, the teams in the two Wild Card spots are Angry Ward’s Mariners and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
-Chasing those teams hard are the Toronto Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles.
-The American League East is assured of at least one playoff spot if not both.
-In the National League, the Braves are one game behind the Mets for first and currently occupy the top playoff spot.
-The 5th place team is Philadelphia.

Something in the water on this side of the Mississippi.

Fantasy Football

Tonight, I have my Fantasy Football Draft. I really am not sure who to pick, but I do have a strategy. For the first four rounds, I pick running backs. From there, I grab my QB and after that I get my two receivers. Then it’s for the best available players. I go for the running backs because they get the most touches. They can get you points running or catching. No other players offer that many touches. A good QB1 is a must and then decent receivers. This helps my team but it means all the big play targets are usually gone unless I find a star wide receiver or something for some unknown reason that was not picked. However, as you know that is a real long shot. Wish me luck later tonight.

“Untold” Documentaries

Junoir Blaber

I have found myself watching documentaries late at night while I write and… stuff. The “Untold” series has been lights out fantastic. I first started with the Rise and Fall of And 1. I remember And 1 and the mix-tape tour and remember them vanishing but not sure what happened. Well, this documentary does a great job of explaining how it happened and how like most sports start-ups they were beaten by major players. Then there was Chrissy Martin, the first premier women’s boxer, and finally Tim Donaghy – the NBA ref caught gambling. There looks to be a few more on Netflix. If you are looking for something to watch when nothing else is on, these hit the spot.

Thanks for reading and feel free to comment below. Come back tomorrow for Ben Whitney, who will educate me on my college football mistakes, allegedly.
