East Rutherford, NJ: Every week there is more misery for the Giants. On the diamond, the Dodgers won a thriller last night, with an 18th inning walk-off by who else, Freddie Funking Freeman. And the Tush Push is super fun, right? Last, with Drake Maye’s ascendance, I’m wondering how a redo of the 2924 NFL draft would look. Let’s rock it, Dee Snider.

Skatte-Nooooooooo!
If you told me that after week 8 that Dart would be the starter and looking excellent, Abdul Carter was living up to his billing, Burns was leading the league in sacks, and Andrew Thomas was healthy and playing well – I would have thrown a damn party. Check, that’s a successful season there. But nooooo, seemingly every week we have endure more torture. All of those positives have been kneecapped by the Nabers injury, brutally blown losses to Denver, New Orleans, and Dallas, and now a gruesome injury to heart and soul guy Cam Skattebo.
I might save myself the trouble this Sunday and pour tabasco sauce in my eyes and eat $100 worth of Taco Bell instead of watching the game. Buckle up folks, things might go seriously sideways for the Giants from here on out. If Daboll can’t keep them playing hard, he should go.
Freeman Walks it Off, Again
In case you didn’t stay up until 4 AM, you missed Freddie Freeman’s walk off in the 18th. What’s crazy is that Freeman had just missed a walk off two other times in extra innings. I’d say they should walk him, but who the F are you going to pitch to? Ohtani got on base NINE times in this one. That takes a month for a lot of guys.

The Blue Jays are putting up a good fight, but they desperately need a win today. And Springer might be done.
The Tush Push and the Blind Refs
If the NFL gets rid of the Tush Push, and I now think they should and will, it will have a lot with the two games against the Giants. In their first matchup, the Eagles ran it on four consecutive plays. Tushtastic football there! And on Sunday, the refs nullified a clear turnover when Hurts stuck out the ball and had it ripped away by Thibodeaux. Replays showed the whistle came about 20 minutes after the takeaway and his forward progress definitely had not been stopped. Indefensibly bad call. Between that and the refs letting Eagles lineman fire out before the snap, it seems like the refs are hellbent on protecting the Tush at all costs. If they can’t officiate it, get rid of it.
The Giants were outclassed in this one, but the refs sure did their part in preventing them from getting any momentum. Bad calls besides the missed takeaway included, missing a false start, which you hardly ever see, and the overturning of a long TD to Slayton because Darius pushed the defender’s hands off him. I have more hand fighting with my wife over the remote. Even Troy and Joe couldn’t help but bag on the blind mice refs in this one.

2024 QB Re-draft
If they did the 2024 draft again, would the Bears stick with Caleb? Seems unlikely. He makes some unbelievable plays here and there, like the throw to DJ Moore at the end of Sunday’s game, but he also makes some mind bogglers. I think they would have hoped for more progress at this point with Ben Johnson. It’s hard to know where Daniels is this year, with all the injuries they’ve had on offense, including his own. But Drake Maye is breaking out like a fast food addicted teenager.
The Pats did the right thing is drafting stud tackle Will Campbell instead of a weapon. A good O-line is a better friend to a QB than a great WR. I know it sounds crazy, as good as Ja’Marr Chase has been, but Penei Sewell might have been the better pick there. And look at CJ Stroud’s regression with a poor line. Maybe they should have focused some resources on the trenches instead of taking two WRs in the last draft. And where would Bo Nix go now? Before 12, I’d reckon. I’m guessing the Falcons would consider a do over on their Penix pick.
How do you think the redraft would go? Anyway, Angry Ward is here tomorrow, and he needs no do over.
