EL BARRIO, EL FALLS – I got a text at almost 1am, I was up to bat today. So let just into it cause there not much in the tank. We have the tried-and-true formula of a Song of the Week, followed by Sports Stuff. Here is what is on the menu for today’s Stuff: Jimbo Fisher, Aaron Boone & Kaepernick!

Song of the Week: I turned on the radio this morning as I drove, and after hearing about that ugly tax bill passing, there was no better song. “Rally round the family with a pocket full of shells…” you should know the rest, it is Bulls on Parade by Rage Against The Machine. I think we all feel like that right now.
Jimbo Fisher: So Jimbo Fisher is leaving Florida State for Texas for 75 Million Reasons. How is it possible that a guy that FSU made Coach in waiting and designated to replace Bobby Bowden when he retired, has just taken off and left his team wondering what to do?! Players have already retracted commitments after hearing he might bolt and one did immediately after. How is this allowed to happen, yet the kids still can’t get paid properly and the have to forfeit a year if they transfer? Plantation System that is how and that is why.
Aaron Boone: So the Yankees have gone full-boar into the analytics over instinct dept. They have chosen an inexperienced guy to “man manage” the players and have the computer make every other decision. This is nothing more than a consolidation of power by Brian Cashman. Heknows the Baby Steinbrenners can’t be trusted, so it is best to make yourself hard to replace. Fair play to the guy.
Colin Kaepernick: The man’s legend grows. Earlier this week, Kaep was named the 2017 Sports Illustrated Muhammad Ali Legacy Award Winner. Despite not playing this season at all, people have talked more about him than when he was actually playing. He has sparked a movement and lost his job as a result. He has quietly, although not by choice, helped in the community, while the media is much more busy covering people angry about him rather than all the good he is doing. The man will be a legend in 20-25 years when all this cultural anxiety and snowflakery fever breaks. Congrats Kaep!!
