SPANISH HARLEM – Football is back and since you have read about it for almost a week straight. I will refrain from anything about the NFL but more on the other Football. Has anybody written about Lionel Messi’s impact on the MLS in the United States for MeettheMatts.com? Let me check… nope (if I missed anything, apologies in advanced).
Let me start out by saying I’m not a major soccer fan. I mostly know about soccer because I follow sports and occasionally will see highlights when they come across my various device screens. I mostly don’t understand the rules, but I can watch a game and enjoy what I am seeing.
I have learned most of what I know from Soccer games, like the FIFA series from EA Sports on my PlayStation. That’s where I really got to know Messi and he was awesome to play with. As you can imagine, any team he played on was on my radar. Barcelona, yes please! Argentenia… country pride? Even better! Now I finally get to see him play in America and I’m not the only person that’s excited about this. Every celebrity and sports star you can think of has made an appearance to watch him play in person. It’s surreal to think that someone of Messi’s status, could play in the United States… at his prime.
I honestly don’t know how long it will last and it may not last much longer, so enjoy every minute you get to see Messi play because he could be gone before you know it. That’s it for now, comeback tomorrow for more content. Leave a comment about anything you wish.
