WILKES-BARRE, PA – Happy New Year! What a year 2016 was!
But some things don’t change.
Like the Buffalo Bills not making the playoffs, and a year-plus later and E.J. Manuel is still not a quality starting quarterback in this league.
Alabama still reigns supreme in college football, though that could change this weekend.
LeBron James is still the best player in the NBA. I don’t care what anybody says.
The New York Mets are still the JV team in New York. Like with LeBron, I don’t care what anybody says.
With 2017 upon us, this set of Ebs’ Hot Takes will be a 2017 edition of blistering hawt predictions. Enjoy!
Rex and Rob Ryan will have their own TV show. Look, Rex Ryan was built for TV. Whether it be as an analyst or just in a reality show, it will be a great fit.
If you’ve seen Hard Knocks, Rex and Rob: Reunited or some of the commercials the two have starred in, a TV show would be a wonderful idea. Preferably HBO, where anything can happen. I know I’d watch and I know you’d watch.
Whatever you think about Rex and Rob Ryan as coaches is fair, but they’re guys you root for and would be a great watch on TV wherever it may be.

Even though Rex’s two years in Buffalo will go down as a disappointment, I have no ill will and wish him the best of luck.
LeBron James is on his way to another ring. I understand that the Golden State Warriors are the trendy pick to win the NBA Finals, but they still have to get past LeBron James, something they’ve struggled to do as of late.
I’m of the believer that LeBron James is en route to finish with a better career than Michael Jordan. I know I’m in the minority with that opinion, and that’s okay. But I believe it.
James will get there with his rings, including taking another step this year. The Warriors don’t have the physicality to match James, and that includes the NBA’s version of Grayson Allen. Sorry, I mean Draymond Green.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will stop the New England Patriots from reaching the Super Bowl. I believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers are the best team in the AFC, and probably the entire league. Nope, not Tommy Boy and the Cheaters.
Sure, Tom Brady’s is having one of the best seasons of his career, but I don’t think the Patriots have the defense to win a title. Think whatever you want about Bill Belichick, but trading both Chandler Jones and Jamie Collins was a mistake.
The defense doesn’t have the ability to stop both Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. Not many defenses do, and ultimately that will be the downfall.
Even the Patriots don’t have the offense to keep up with Pittsburgh.
I see a Pittsburgh Steelers-Green Bay Packers Super Bowl, just like I called it back in September.
