Ebs’ Hot Takes: New York Yankees, NFC East, Nike NBA Jerseys

WILKES-BARRE, PA – Zay Jones’ fourth-down drop is still running back in my head.

For as awful as the Buffalo Bills’ offense looked for three quarters on Sunday, they put themselves in position to win.

A masterful drive by Tyrod Taylor got the Bills on the fringe of the red zone. A fourth-and-10 for the game. But the ball was slightly overthrown and it slid through Jones’ hands.

Now the Bills are 1-1 and in second place with the New England Patriots and have a matchup with the vaunted Denver Broncos defense this weekend. Oh, boy.

Well, enough of my Bills rant. Here’s a fresh set of Ebs’ Hot Takes.

Enjoy.

The New York Yankees will win the AL East. It’s about time for a bold Yankees prediction, right?

Look, this isn’t so much about my confidence in the Yankees, because I still think they lose to Houston in the ALCS, but my lack of belief in the Boston Red Sox. They’re overrated. Vastly.

As it stands, the Yankees sit just three games out of first with just a couple weeks to go. New York has been red-hot and on Boston’s tail.

The Red Sox play the Astros to end the season. First place could come down to that series.

The Dallas Cowboys are overrated. Honestly, the NFC East is up for grabs. Each team has its flaws and it would surprise me if whichever one wins the division has just nine wins. Maybe 10 tops.

But I’ll tell you this… While the Cowboys have a lot of talent on offense, Dak Prescott will continue to come back down to earth and that defense is horrendous. The Cowboys gave up 42 points to the Trevor Siemian-led Broncos. Forty-two points! Not good.

Right now I lean toward the Philadelphia Eagles as the early favorites to win the division.

I’m digging the NBA’s new uniforms. Considering the demographics of this website, and that I’m one of the younger folks here, I’m going to say I’m in the minority with this, but I love what Nike has done with the NBA’s uniforms.

While I wish they did a little more to the Atlanta Hawks’, for the majority, the jerseys are bright, vibrant and fresh. It’s nice to see after what Adidas had been putting out lately.

While I don’t quite understand the concept or point of the new “smart jerseys” for fans, I think the new threads will sell like hot cakes.

I love the T-Wolves’ unis.
