EL BARRIO, EL FALLS – It was a crazy week as my father-in-law was dead set on me doing landscaping whether I wanted to or not. Plus, I thought I was off today but I still got called in. I found the Song of the Week because I listened to a helluva lot of music this week, but finding the right track wasn’t easy. The Song of the Week, will be followed by: Stanley Cup Finals, Subway Series and NBA Finals.

Song of the Week: With the NBA and NHL playoffs over (sad face), there is only one song that works. Congrats to the finals winners and the new champions. This week’s Song of the Week is We Are the Champions by Queen.

Stanley Cup Finals: Right after the Washington Capitals defeated Pittsburgh, you knew they were a good bet to win it all.  The Caps had been stopped by Pittsburgh in the second round the last two years. Regardless of how the Caps played in the regular season, it was always going to come down to the playoffs and whether they would choke. They didn’t. They found their nerve.

This may be like when the Detroit Pistons fell to the Chicago Bulls at the start of a new dynasty.

Subway Series Managers: Overachiever vs Underachiever

Subway Series: If both teams had kept their start-of-the-season form I would be so much excited for this series. We needed the overachieving Yanks to play underachieving baseball while the underachieving Mets had to overachieve. However, both teams returned to expected form, so instead of a team with the best arms in the NL facing the best hitting line-up in the league, the Yanks will likely sweep all three games. That season was never gonna last but it was exciting while it did.

NBA Finals:  Poor LeBron. He tried his best but his best wasn’t good enough. The best player in the league lost to the best team, again. He may leave Cleveland. If he doesn’t then the Cavs will need to break the bank and get him some help. Remember, Jordan’s supporting cast without him got to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals while LeBron’s guys can’t make key free throws or remember the score.
