CLIFTON PARK, NY – The World Series begins tomorrow! So what better way to welcome Major League Baseball’s championship series between the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals than a brand new set of Ebs’ Hot Takes? Exactly. There isn’t one.
Let’s get this show on the road with this week’s set of Ebs’ Hot Takes:
The Mets have a rotation set to dominate. The New York Mets proved during the NLCS that they have the starting rotation to shut down any lineup.
The Mets made the Chicago Cubs’ bats – some of the hottest in baseball – look completely lost. Stars like Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant were complete non-factors, and you can give the Mets’ starting rotation almost all of the credit for that feat.
Pick your poison… Whether Terry Collins sends out Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom or Noah Syndergaard, fans should feel comfortable each and every night.
The Royals’ depth throughout their batting order could give
the Mets some trouble. While the Kansas City Royals batting order doesn’t have the kind of names that the Toronto Blue Jays have, they have depth.
One through nine, the Royals have quality bats up and down their lineup. This isn’t something the Mets have faced yet and it could cause them some trouble.
But what could play an even bigger factor is the use of the designated hitter. Remember, the Royals have home-field advantage throughout the World Series. Being able to use a DH could play major dividends for the Royals.
Kendrys Morales has been one of the league’s best designated hitters this year and will be an x-factor while the Royals play at home.
The Mets will win the World Series in 6. The Mets’ pitching is just too good to beat at this point.
If the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cubs couldn’t get the job done, I just don’t see the Royals figuring New York out either.
Along with that stellar rotation, having guys like Bartolo Colon and in the bullpen helps a lot too.
This is going to be an exciting series, but the Mets get it done in the end.
