SPANISH HARLEM – As an NBA playoff basketball fan, it doesn’t get any better than games that go down to wire. We live for moments like this, you want to see who will be the hero and who will be the goat… and I’m not talking about the greatest of all time type of goat. Other than the Phoenix Suns, every series so far have been evenly matched with certain teams looking to take the series lead.
Kevin Durant Vs The Bucks
With Kevin Durant having an all-time game on Tuesday, the Nets took the lead in the series with an opportunity to close the game out in Milwaukee but I’m not here to talk about that upcoming game. Playing all 48 minutes is a tough task but somehow Durant made it look easy. We all know how great of a basketball player he is but to take a team on on your shoulder like that and literally beat a great team by yourself is something special. James Harden came back from injury to help out but he wasn’t needed on that night. It was all about Durant and there was nothing you or anyone could do to stop him. His ability to score from every inch of that court is not something you see often, even from some the of the best players in the game, past or present.
Atlanta Hawks Steal one In Philly
Its difficult to look at this game and not think the 76ers choked. With a commanding lead going into the second half, there was no way you thought Philly would blow that game but somehow they lost. It has to hurt and we will see if that is something that they can learn from. When I say, its bad, it was really bad. Taking into account that they were the home team makes it that much worse. Great teams don’t lose games like this at home but you have to give credit to the Hawks, who chipped away with Trae Young adding 39 points and 7 assist. If the 6ers lose this series, this game will be to blame.
Clippers Take Game 5
With Kawhi Leonard out for the game and possibly the rest of the playoffs due to a knee injury, the Utah Jazz had a lot going for them. They were home and were playing a team that didn’t have their best player so its fair to say, a win was expected. What they didn’t expect was that Paul George would play his best game in the series. He was excellent and for someone that gets a lot of slack for bad playoff games, he certainly stepped up in the biggest way possible. I’m not sure if the Clippers will eventually advance if Leonard is not healthy but for now they are one game away from the Conference Finals.
