SPANISH HARLEM – Both the New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians Guardians may need their goggles and flippers tonight, as there is a good chance they game gets postponed… That gives us time to be retrospective… There is always a bit of anxiety when your getting ready to watch your favorite team in a playoff game. You never want to watch your team lose but that feeling is only heightened when you are playing at home. Gerrit Cole was on the bump and you’re telling yourself “This is why we paid this guy all the big bucks.” BUT… you really don’t know how everything will turn out until you get all 27 outs.
Cole got the won and pitched well, gave up a home run but pretty much held his own. It wasn’t spectacular and looked shaky in the early innings yet he found a way to keep the Cleveland Guardians to one run over 6 innings. Harrison Bader showed tied the game at 1 a piece and the Yankees never looked back. Playoff Rizzo was came up big once again with not only, a big home run to make the game 4-1 but also contributed with the glove late in the game.
Now, they look to Nasty Nestor Cortes for more playoff magic. He is the type of person we all should root for, he continued to be an important part of this rotation and dare I say, the best pitcher on the Yankees this season. He will not waste your time on the mound, always ready to throw the next pitch and that makes baseball fun. Weather permitting, we will see another great outing from Nestor.
That’s it for now, come back tomorrow for Cam James.
