Grote2DMax (aka Kevin McGrory) is another of our Bronx-raised, urban white trash writers. Having grown up with Angry Ward, Cheesy Bruin, The Public Professor, JG Clancy (Mattville's Otis of Mayberry) and Tall Matt. What's really odd about him, however, is that he and Tall Matt both liked the NFL Rams and MLB Mets?! Bouncing twin boys, Matt & Matt, have forced him to hang up his keyboard to keep his lovely bride from socking him - and us - in the nose... but he still tosses a gem every now and then and can be seen on Twitter - @Grote2DMax. We're luck to have him.
COLD SPRING, NY – Don’t call it a comeback. Herr Short Matt asked me to come out of retirement to write a column, and looking around – I think this seems like 1990’s all over again, so why not? Here goes. The Clintons are set to retake the White House, unless another Bush gets to […]

NEW YORK, NY – There is no bigger rivalry between two sports cities in this country than between New York and Boston. This has been going on since the days of Boston Red Sox star Babe Ruth being sold to the Yankees. I have been on both sides of the rivalry having grown up in […]
ATLANTA, GA – Big wins last night for the Rangers and my Bruins. I hope we get to see them play each other in the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Even though I’m not a pro basketball fan, I have to admit that NYC is much more lively when the Knicks and Rangers […]
Thanks to my good friend Angry Ward, I have joined in on an MLB.com contest called Beat The Streak. The basis for the contest is to pick a player or two per day that gets at least one hit. If you can beat Joe DiMaggio’s streak of 56 consecutive games then you win $5.6 million. […]
ATLANTA, GA – Last night the Louisville Cardinals were crowned Men’s college basketball champions, much to the chagrin The Public Professor, our very own proud Michigan alum. Last night’s game kicked off an incredible week of sports, quite possibly be the best week in sports for the entire year. With baseball opening last week, we […]
