EL BARRIO, EL FALLS – Happy Monday Everybody! There is absolutely nothing to be happy about. Well, Short Matt turned a year older this weekend and his Peter Pan Syndrome is still intact. But besides that, the country is in a sad state and we have no leadership. But enough of the sad stuff, let’s get to why you came here. Here are the topics for today: Newton to Pats, RIP Joe Bugel, Covid-19; The Return.
Newton to Patriots: So the marriage everybody expected finally happened. Cam Newton signed with the New England Patriots. As a J-E-T-S fan, of course I’m not happy. You have a motivated Cam Newton and an evil genius in Bill Belichick working together. Along with Belichick protégé Josh McDaniels. Newton is now no longer looking for a place to land and New England needed a new number one quarterback with Tom “TB12” Brady no longer in town seems like a perfect match. Why it took New England so long to make it happen but it’s happened. We will see how it all plays out but it makes me think that the Patriots are looking at the fourth playoff spot once again.
RIP Joe Bugel: I remember Joe Bugel coaching the Arizona Cardinals and creating The Big Nickel. I didn’t know why more teams didn’t try it but his set front 7 was always a nickel package with an extra strong safety playing the strong-side linebacker position over the tight end. It seemed to make sense to me but it never caught on in the league. Bugel’s also generally known as the offensive line coach for the Washington Racial Slurs during the ’80s when they were known as The Hogs. His height of fame was coaching those Hogs. He passed away at the tender age of 80.
Covid-19 Phase 2, Back For The First Time: Supposedly, this is the first wave, as it never went away. Why? Because some states did their own thing as a result of complete lack of national direction. So Covid-19 is sort of back. More like it has been unleashed as a result of no social distancing and mask-wearing. So here we are. I’m just glad I am in the Northeast where we went all-out and got a handle on it. We’re doing well now. I’s down to the South and Southeast and I don’t really feel bad for them. I feel bad for the poor who are disproportionately affected. I feel bad for people of color affected but it’s going on all over the country. All of this doesn’t bother me as much because we knew fudging numbers and playing political games meant nothing to the virus. So now you have to shut everything down to fight it. And to all you people in your twenties and early thirties: stop going out and being a d!ck. We are all idiots in our 20s and 30s but this disease is real. Just stay home and drink.
Well thanks for reading and come back tomorrow for Big Ben Whitney. But first, feel free to comment below.
