The Tryout: TV Series Give You a Shot at MLB

The Tryout: Wade Boggs, Doc Gooden stand in your way.

TAMPA, FL – As the world prepares for Christmas, something out of the ordinary was going on on the baseball fields of Florida. A bunch of contestants were trying out for a professional player contract. The players were the few remaining from a field of 200. They came from all over the map. Places like Nicaragua, Canada, and the States were represented. They all participated in a new show called The Tryout.

Produced by Armando Gutierrez, who was also involved in other productions like, Walt Before Mickey, and The Little Mermaid. Armando’s love for the game created this new series, which basically gives players another chance to achieve their dream of being a pro player.

With the guidance of Hall of Famer Wade Boggs, ex-major leaguers Orestes Destrade, Enos Cabell, Mike Torrez, Dwight Gooden, Sam Militello, Carlos Marti, Ray Negron, along with current player Nestor Cortez, the participants displayed their skills of hitting, fielding, and running.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman even made an appearance to judge the talent and offer his advice. The manicured ballparks of the University of Tampa, Stengel-Huggins Complex and Steinbrenner Field was where the action took place.

The show, which is basically like American Idol in a baseball format, will soon be seen on television with plenty of drama involved. Indeed, Executive Producer Armando Gutierrez has once again teamed up with Director Khoa Le to put together a winning combination.

Did I mention that I tried out?
