HOLBROOK, NY – The Jets will play the Patriots Sunday at Metlife. With that, let’s go back in time…
GOING BACK TO DECEMBER 27th 2015…
The Mets were fresh off the despair and hope of a World Series loss. The Jets were then led by Ryan Fitzpatrick – and his was the last Gang Green team to defeat the Patriots. Unfortunately, the Jets would lose the final game of the season to the Rex Ryan-led Bills in heartbreaking fashion to miss the playoffs by a single game.
CUT TO TODAY…
With Aaron Rodgers lost for the season (barring some miracle from dolphin vibrations) the fate of the Jets season now rests in the hands of Zach Wilson. Aside from a 68-yard TD to star second year receiver Garrett Wilson, the Jets offense looked lifeless against the Cowboys last week. Head Coach Robert Saleh and his staff will have to rely on their stellar defense to snap the 14-game losing streak versus Bill Belichick and the Pats.
The J-E-T-S enter Sunday as 2.5 point underdogs with the over/under set at the lowest of any game all season – to this point – at just 36. Points will likely be at a premium as Mac Jones and the boys from Foxborough haven’t been lighting it up themselves, starting the season with consecutive losses to the Eagles and Dolphins.
Maybe the Jets can finally beat Belichick & Co again. Until that happens, “the schneid” continues.
