SPANISH HALREM – To make it easier on myself, I will be doing a before and after report of last night’s game. The New York Knicks will face the Indiana Pacers for Game 2 at Madison Square Garden trying to take a 2-0 lead in the series, so let us start there.
Before The Game
Game 1 was a sensational roller coaster, as the New York Knicks lead by Jalen Brunson won in the closing seconds. There is something great about this team as a fan that allows them not to worry too often about the pace of play, as you know even if this team is down, they will somehow grit their way back. No lead is safe against them, and you will allow yourself to believe that as long as the game is close going into the final two minutes, they have a chance to pull out the win.
The Pacers played as well as a team can play in an away game and somehow still lost. The Bench was impressive, and the Knicks played their best guys for over 40 minutes (AGAIN!) but somehow had the energy and smarts to come out with the victory. Can the Knicks continue to play this way throughout the series, is yet to be seen but you got to believe that as long as this core remains healthy, they can do anything they set their mind to.
After The Game
Watching this game with 30 seconds left I feel a lot of emotions, yes the Knicks won but at what price? At first it was Jalen Brunson leaving the game, he came back and helped this team to a victory at Madison Square Garden. Josh Hart was Awesome and you cant say enough about Donte. OG Anunoby was having the time of his life until he wasn’t. The same fear I had with Brunson now sits with OG. Let me stop and appreciate this win for what it is. Its fu@king sweet and now on to the next no matter what!
