PORT JEFF, NYGreetings. I’m trying to out-do my brother for the shortest intros… Wait, that just made it too long! Here’s what we’ve got for today. Giants and Jets Rock Hit Bottom, Juan Soto Sweepstakes

Giants and Jets Rock Hit Bottom

The Giants suffered perhaps their most humiliating loss of the season this past Sunday in London against the Panthers. The season was already lost prior to this game, however the Giants had shown some heart and played hard in their recent losses. Daniel Jones was absolutely putrid. There’s no other way to put it. He turned the ball over, he took way too many sacks, and he consistently missed wide open receivers all throughout the game. The Giants are on bye this week, and after that I expect Drew Lock to take over as the Quarterback. Many are speculating Daniel Jones has taken his last snap as a Giant and that scenario appears very likely. If it is the end of Jones’ time with the Giants, they can finally admit the mistake of giving him a massive contract and look to find the QB of the future.

For the other NY football team, things aren’t much better. The Jets, much like the Giants, also had their worst showing of the season in Arizona losing 31-6. This was an embarrassing performance all around. The vaunted defense that was supposed to be the strength of this team has looked terrible since the firing of Robert Saleh. Aaron Rodgers lacks any ability to push the ball down the field and the offense as a whole is just a mess. Somehow at 3-7 the Jets still have a chance at the 7th seed in a very top heavy AFC. They’ll play the Colts today in what’s likely their last chance to keep their playoff dreams alive.

Jon Heyman has reported that Mets owner Steve Cohen along with other high ranking Mets officials met with Juan Soto in California on Saturday and the meeting “went extremely well.” Soto has also already met with the Blue Jays, Red Sox and presumably the Yankees, though oddly there’s been very little discussed in regard to Soto returning to the Yankees. It’s still very early in the process and a decision from Soto may not come for several weeks. For the Mets, this would be the most highly coveted Free Agent signing in franchise history and for the Yankees it would be a devastating loss.
