Thank You, CC Sabathia: The Hall of Fame is now Your Home

Did CC Sabathia eat Tommy John to keep him out of Cooperstown?

SPANISH HARLEM – Well-deserved CC Sabathia, the newest member of the Hall of Fame and latest to don the pinstripes on his plaque for the New York Yankees. I don’t think you will find one fan that isn’t happy about this. CC was beloved by the Bronx faithful, and he will continue to be remembered as one of the best Yankees of his generation.

Without Sabathia, the Yankees don’t make it to the 2009 World Series, let alone win. He was the definition of a workhorse and always wanted to pitch every inning of every game. You knew you were only going to get the best out of him, day in and day out. He protected his players when it was needed and was always the first to run out of the dugout if something was brewing.

I can’t believe that it was following 2019 that he retired. It seems like yesterday that he was a Yankee and now he will go down as one of the very best players to play the game of baseball. As we know, it’s no easy feat to make it to Cooperstown, especially with the game being so different for pitchers in this era. It seems to be getting more difficult for them to be appreciated but no one can tell you that CC was not only an ACE but one of the best Aces in the league during most of his career.

Things changed when he had shoulder surgery late in his career, when he no longer could ramp up and throw the ball by hitters, but he reinvented himself on his way to over 3,000 strike outs. Class act through and through, and I loved everything that he meant to this team and this city.

Thank you, CC, for all the great memories.

That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for more good content from Action Jackson Sternberg.
