Yankees Playoff Reactions for Game 3 and 4

Somewhere, Mets fans are happy, after Yankees fail...again.

SPANISH HARLEM – The New York Yankees lived to fight another day after Tuesday 9-6 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. It sure wasn’t pretty but it rarely is with this group. They showed heart by not letting up after falling behind 5-0 and they inched their way back with a big Aaron Judge 3-run home run to tie the game at 6.

We are still not at the point where Judge has changed the narrative on his playoff struggles, but this year has been different for him. He has been getting on base and has a good average, but the homers were nowhere to be found. That changed on Tuesday, and the Yankees will need more of the same if they want to extend their season. The starting pitching needs to be better, and Aaron Boone is hoping that Cam Schlittler gives them the length they need to help a bullpen that is iffy at best and horrible at most. They don’t have room for error and can’t afford to climb out of another big deficit, so they will need Schlitty to provide what no other Yankee pitcher has provided in this series, a quality outing.

That was then… this is now.

Game 4 Reaction

The season is over… what a disappointment. After showing so much fight in game 3, the Yankees essentially folded on their fans. I can’t say I’m not surprised but it still stings when your favorite team loses. This group is built to win in the regular but not in the postseason, time and time again they come up short because they don’t do the little things that win you baseball games. We had the advantage in game 4 with the Blue Jays using a patchwork of relievers yet somehow, they still put up a dud. I won’t go into specifics about what makes me mad about how this Yankees is built but we do have a long offseason to discuss what the organization can to do make this team better equipped to win when it matters.

That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for more great content from Jackson Sternberg.
