SPANISH HARLEM – Today I will be discussing the 3 things that matter the most to me. Yeah, I know that may seem selfish but it’s also my way to vent online. The occasional tweet just doesn’t do for me. And unlike a tweet, I won’t get much push back here.
Let’s start with…
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles
I am a biased Jalen Hurts fan – I truly love the guy. He is my guy and he became my guy the day they drafted him. Does it bother that many inside and outside the Eagle’s organization don’t appreciate or even like him? Yes. Yes it does. But if you think every person you ever met liked you, you are insane. You are not for everybody. No matter what you do someone will dislike you. The only thing you can do is be true to yourself and the people around you.
Was he a part of the offensive woes that the Eagles dealt with last year? Absolutely. It’s a two-way street. You can have issues with the offensive scheme but in the end you have also have to produce in that scheme. I don’t think that Hurts had a bad year, but the offense was ugly and he has to take some blame – which I’m sure he does. Will there be issues again if he doesn’t produce this season? Yes, there will and this will start all over again.
Yankees Off to Hot Start
The Yankees are currently 8-3 after last night, and while things seem good, there is the summer swoon and the bullpen to think about. Consistency matters and if you’re the Yankees, you want to win as many games as possible before the Boone Era Summer starts. I’m not saying it’s his fault but consistency matters and this has been a constant during his regime.
I know it’s early, but the bullpen will need to be upgraded, whether via internal options or trades. The starting pitching has been excellent, and a strong pen can make this a dangerous team. If the starters continue to eat up innings, that limits the amount of innings you will give to relievers, yet it remains a weakness until further notice.
Knicks Playoff Chances

To piggyback off AngryWard, are the Knicks contenders? Yes, I think they are, still they are a very flawed team. They have their moments when they look like one of the best teams in the league and there are other times that make you want to punch your TV set.
Can they turn it up on the playoffs? We have seen them do it before under Thibs, so it will be interesting to see if they can bring the same intensity with Mike Brown. Will this be a lost season if they can’t make it out of the first round (which I don’t believe will happen)? Sure, it will suck but I’m part of the fan base that saw the Knicks suck for 24 plus years. I’m still getting used to the “Knicks are good thing”.
That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for more great content from Jackson Sternberg.
